We used triage in the emergency departments to identify those patients that need care first. It serves as a gatekeeper when entering a healthcare facility. In pandemic response, establishing triage units outside the facility to screen patients before they enter the hospital will immediately isolate symptomatic patients as soon as possible. Thus, minimizing chance for exposure preventing the spread of infection to hospital occupants–staffs, patients and visitor – is an absolute priority and calls for appropriate measure.
